Lunch Duchess "How It Ends"
“How It Ends” is a bouncy indie rock track with winding bass lines, gentle shuffling drum patterns and a dry lead vocal. The production sounds small in a nice way, like the energy of the track is being held back tastefully. The song uses that control to its advantage, building momentum towards the end before letting go and shifting to a more ballad type finish. To hear more from Lunch Duchess check out their single “Perfection.”
Villain of the Story "Losing Control"
“Losing Control” is a radio-ready, modern day hard rock song. The song has a big, epic feel, with dramatic lyrics, thundering drums, and a massive wall of guitar and bass providing the majority of the instrumental. In the back half of the track the singing is permeated with several moments of growls/screams, used tastefully as the exception rather than the norm, and on this track they really hit when they do come in. “Losing Control” comes from the band's new album “Divided.”
OziBattler "Tide"
“Tide” is a rock track with a DIY production feel. The song is led by a prominent, gravelly vocal and supported by drums, guitar and bass. The verses keep the energy fairly low only to explode into an anthemic chorus with big distorted guitar chords and half time drums. The song features a ripping guitar solo in the back half and a very pleasant fingerpicked guitar part on the verses. This song comes from the band's latest EP “Hear Me.”
Syvers "Fired up"
“Fired Up” is a harmony rich, indie track with shimmering modern production. The instrumental consists of a gentle wash of synth pad and acoustic plucking. The drums enter softly with a simple electronic kick and a reverb heavy electric is added to the track along with some atmospheric synth lines. The vocals are heavily layered and have a dreamy, hazy quality to them. To hear more from Syvers check out the single “Moon.”
Aesha Minor "Iron Hand"
“Iron Hand” is an indie-electronic pop track with synth stabs that would sound at home on a Beach House record. The drums are tight electronic samples with a slightly broken down, vintage quality. The song cycles through more gentle sections of acoustic guitar and vocals, then to bigger sections that feature an array of different synth sounds and drum beats. The melancholy and relaxed vocals hold the track’s different sections together with a consistent melody and timbre. This song is the band's first official release.
Green/Blue "Moving On"
“Moving On” opens with a crunchy guitar riff and broken down drum rhythm. The whole track feels dusty and distorted in a good way. The vocals are atmospheric and awash with a heavy reverb. A lead guitar hook provides the song's selling point, with an iconic and classic sounding guitar tone that sounds similar to music from the soviet wave movement. This song comes from the band's new album “Paper Thin.”
