See More Perspective "The Environment"
“The Environment” is a sprawling hip hop track with boom bap drums and psychedelic overtones. The song features a seemingly never ending stream of creativity, with a wide variety of sounds and strange interlude-type breaks. The lyrics range from political to tongue and cheek which makes for a really engaging dichotomy at the center of this track. To hear more from See More Perspective, check out the new album “Edgar Allen Poe Dameron.”
Couch Potato Massacre "The Joy of Painting"
“The Joy of Painting” is a punk track that centers around Bob Ross and his painting tutorials. Much of the lyrics are actually bob ross quotes and the track even features a short sample from the show. The instrumental is guitar driven and crunchy with a classic punk rock sound. Overall this is a fun track and a nice tribute to Bob Ross. The song comes from the bands last EP “Culture Shock.”
Toilet Rats "Mall Goth"
“Mall Goth” is a piece of alternative synth pop with a grungy, post punk feel. The track opens with fuzzy distorted bass and features a steady drum beat as well as an array of synthesizers. The vocals are melancholy and subdued, exuding a dark and mysterious energy. This song comes from the album “Toilet Rats III.”
Vin "Something Fuzzy"
“Something Fuzzy” is a hypnotizing piece of progressive math rock that will completely sweep you off your feet with its guitar riffs and intricate rhythms. The track opens with a dramatic thom-york-esque vocal refrain that returns later on with even more energy. Between these sections is a decidedly heavier section that features screamed vocals and a more gentle and melodic section as well. To hear more from Vin check out the 2020 album “Granule.”
Fend "Domino"
“Domino” is a striking piece of midwest melodic rock. The song is absolutely captivating with its insightful and conversational lyricism and absolutely fantastic guitar tones. The track is incredibly well produced and takes the listener through a journey of ups and downs with a wild amount of consistency. Truly an incredible effort from a talented group. To hear more check out the band's first EP “The Mend.”
Birdhole "Names"
“Names” is an energetic piece of pop punk that features a lot of charisma. The instrumental weaves through an array of different sections behind the raw and emotionally charged vocal at the front and center. The lyrics feature a combination of Singing and shouting with an impressive amount of conviction. This song comes from the band’s latest EP “No Greater Meaning.”
